  “Then, she knew it all

Poem by: Despoina

Early afternoon

Montmartre

In a small bistro

Between some coffee and croissants

Between minutes and seconds

Between here and now

Sitting in a cozy corner

 Charles  plays behind the curtains…

She’s staring at his eyes

 He smiles awkwardly

He takes her hand in his

Caressing her palm

He traces her fingers

One by one

Kissing her fragile hand

He places it upon his heart

and leaves it there

She closes her eyes

and feels...

As blood is bursting

within.

 His heartbeats,

 Loud repeated pulses

Kicking under her fingertips

Whispering his secrets

His feelings

His anticipation

She touched

She felt

And then…

And then, she knew it all…
